SoundFrost converts YouTube videos into a streaming audio library. SoundFrost is a great program to turn YouTube programs into podcasts or online radios. Additionally, these videos can be downloaded and saved into a large number of audio and video files such as FLAC, MOV, and M2T. The amount of formats are impressive, but SoundFrost’s user interface is slightly inferior to the comparable Freemake YouTube MP3 Converter.
The SoundFrost library is built by inputting a YouTube search into the application’s search bar. After a few seconds the search results will appear as plain text along with their duration in a second column. The title and length are the only two options for sorting your library, making it a little difficult to find the correct file. You can relieve some of these issues by opting to search for specific URLs. In this state you can freely listen to the raw audio of any of your resulting videos.
All files within SoundFrost's library can be downloaded and converted into large number of outputs: MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, WMA, AVI, FLV, MP4, and more. However, SoundFrost has no compression or input options. The video simply downloads as it appears by the default YouTube settings. This can lead to some lackluster resolutions if you’re expecting 720p and get stuck at only 480p.
SoundFrost is excellent if you solely want to turn YouTube into a radio station. Despite its large selection of download formats, its lack of compression options makes for an average video converter.
